Existential Therapy
With roots in existential philosophy, this is an approach to psychotherapy primarily concerned with exploring lived experience and our relation to existential givens - elements of existence that we are born into - such as embodiment, mortality, isolation, freedom and living within space and time. It attaches particular importance to the themes of responsibility for our choices, authenticity and finding or creating our own meaning in life rather than relying on a preconceived sense of meaning.
